Prepare for Deer Hunting Opening Day

In some states deer  season opening day is almost ready to start while with other states a rifle hunter has to wait until November.

It doesn’t matter whether opening day is this week or not until November now is the time to start getting ready.

  1. Get all your gear out and check that every item is in good condition and determine what you need to replace or upgrade.
  2. Start practicing now at the rifle range and/or with your bow.
  3. Complete your hunter safety course now. If you take online hunter education you will enjoy the convenience of being able to take the course when and where you want.
  4. Attend your state hunter education field day so your hunter education requirement is complete.
  5. Review your state’s hunting regulations and buy this season’s hunting license.
  6. Go to your local gun or archery shop and check out what’s new. You have to buy something new for this season!
  7. Tune in several of the deer hunting tv shows on the hunting channels and pick up tips from the pros.
  8. Scout your hunting property and set up trail cameras.
  9. Schedule your deer hunt now and mark the days off on your calendar.
  10. Enjoy the hunt!
