Hunter Education, Quick and Easy for Texas Dove Hunting

Online hunter education allows your first-time dove hunters to easily and quickly gain their hunter education certificate.Texas Dove hunting season opens this weekend in the North and Central Zones.

Texas Hunter Education has certified Hunter Ed Course as an official online safety course provider.

For students 17 years of age or older, first-time dove hunters can complete the Texas online Complete Certification Hunter Education course from Hunter Ed Course. The course is only $18 and is available at www.HunterEdCourse.com/state/texas.

Texas dove hunting regular season begins September 1, 2014 in the North and Central Zones. The season begins September 19, 2014 in the South Zone and Special White-winged Dove Area.

A hunter can see the zone map and full season dates for the county they’ll be hunting in the Texas Outdoor Annual. The dove hunting season will be 70 days this year (2014). The daily bag limit statewide is 15 that include both mourning doves and white-winged doves. The possession limit is 45.

Hunter Ed Course encourages you to review the Texas hunting regulations so you are familiar with the hunting laws in your field.

Hunter Education is required if you were born on or after September 2, 1971. There are some exceptions for minors if they are accompanied. Refer to the Texas Parks & Wildlife web site for the specific hunter education requirements.
